On Reading
I know many people don't really read that much i think thats quite a shame. I think that you can learn a lot from reading and not just what the book is about. Reading causes you to think about the story even when your not reading it. It may also give you a different perspective on life.
My brother and dad prefer me read something "educational" like business and other books that i ususally dont like. However, i just think that reading those kinds of books are just boring and you'll prolly wont remember anything you read cuz its so boring. Im reading a book right now thats an autobiography on Jack Welsh, a former CEO of GE. Its not the most boring book ive ever read but it cant hold my mind. I know in the end, theres no twist in the plot. And the few tid bits of info i learned, have mostly gone out of my brain already. thats in my case, other people may see it another way.
So just read, good for ya
On TV
I watch a lot of TV and it does get in the way of me getting things done like homework and stuff. But i think if TV were watched the proper amount, it would be most beneficial. Shows like jeoprady and even fictional shows can be very useful in everyday life. if you watch it carefully enough, you may get to learn something. for example, Red posted a quote from ghandi "an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind" (around that). This is a quote that i have already heard of on CSI. This may not seem significant but if a teacher is teaching something new, u may find out you may already know something about it and it just feels good.
I am prolly writing this because i have been watching a lot of TV since i was young but if u give TV a chance, u will learn to love it. Just find one type of show you like and there will be others like it.
On Love
Most of the people that know me wouldn;t take me as a romantic but that prolly because im kinda shy about it and wont talk about it openly. Love can be a good thing and it cant. I have seen it make people smile and people cry and thats why im scared. I dont want to love something and suddenly be ripped away. If i ever find someone to be with i want it to last.
To those who have significant others right now, i hope you find continued happiness and to those who are still "fresh meat" (coined this term at the lockers) like me, i hope we will find what we are looking for.
